Update from Care Page: School District

This post has been copied from our care page from March 26th, 2010

We met with the autism specialist from the school today she had a lot of good things to say about the way she saw Brady interacting with his world. Her views confirm what others have said about Brady's case being on the mild end of the spectrum...so with all our hopes and prayers...and all that therapy between now and the time he starts school...hopefully no one will even be able to tell he was once diagnosed with autism. That is why EARLY intervention is SOOOO important. If you know anyone who has a concern about their child, highly encourage them to have it checked out. I denied this thing for quite sometime even though Steve insisted he thought something was wrong. I kept saying oh he is a boy, and the second child...both those factors make his development slower...he will catch up. Well heinsight is 20/20 I wish I would have listened sooner. But I sure am listening now, and we have been put on the right paths to be able to help him. Mayo said it is rare that they diagnose a child as young as Brady anyway...so without the diagnosis we would not have qualified for the help. So in the end we are on the right track and that is all that matters.

My friend, who's son was diagnosed in February of 2009, said "Mommy" today!! VERY EXCITING...we are so happy for her and her little guy! Her and her son's sucesses give us HOPE that everything will be OK!

And all you guys support and comments help a TON!! It really helps to know we have supportive friends and family all around us! THANKS!
